Scanning software is a computer application to processes and stores digitized documents and images. It works in tandem with document scanning hardware—the hardware reads physical documents and transmits the digitized data to a computer, where the software then converts it into appropriate file formats. 

The CZUR ET Max scanning software is a professional document digitization program specifically designed for the CZUR ET Max. Other CZUR scanner series, such as the ET, Aura, and Shine series, also require their dedicated software to efficiently capture, process, and store paper-based documents and images.

2. How to Download ET Max Book Scanner Software？

Whether scanning books or documents, the digitization process generally involves several key steps: software download, initial setup, feature usage, and file export. The dedicated scanning software for ET Max follows this same workflow. Let’s start with how to download the software and walk you through the details of each step.

2.1 Step-by-Step Guide to Download 

To download the CZUR scanner software, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official CZUR support page at https://www.czur.com/support, or install from the enclosed CD in the package.

Step 2: Select the series and model that corresponds to your scanner, such as ET Max, ET24 Pro, Aura Pro, etc.

Step 3: Click the download link that matches your operating system (Windows or macOS).

The software is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

For  Windows： support  Windows 11、Windows 10、Windows 8、Windows 7、Windows XP SP3, etc.

For Mac： support macOS 10.13 or later.

For Linux： support for Ubuntu 18.04 or later.

Step 4: After downloading, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

2.2 Initial Setup and SN Code Entry

Once the installation is finished, open the software. You will be prompted to enter the SIN code and select your preferred language. The SIN code can be found on the bottom of your scanner—be careful not to mistake the letter “I” for the number “1.” After completing these steps, the CZUR ET Max software interface will appear (as shown below):

At the top of the software interface, there are two main options: "Scanner" and "Visual." The "Visual" feature allows real-time recording and demonstration of the scanning process. Users can also connect a projector to the ET Max’s HDMI port to project the scanning video and images live. However, this feature is rarely used in practice.

The most commonly used section remains the "Scanner." By clicking the settings button in the top left corner, users can customize scanning parameters according to their needs, such as scan frequency, resolution, and image DPI.

3. ET Max Software Features 

ET Max software book scanner key features include multiple color modes and process methods, Curve Flattening and Intelligent Image Correction, batch image editing, multi-format document export, and ABBYY-powered optical character recognition (OCR).

• Multiple Color Mode and Processing Methods

Figure 2 shows the main interface. Click the scan button at the bottom right to start scanning. On the scanning screen, the right side is color modes and processing methods.

Users can flexibly choose the visual effect and output quality based on different usage scenarios. Now, let's begin the scanning demonstration. First, you need to select the type of material you want to scan and choose the corresponding scanning mode accordingly.

Below the color mode options, users can further choose how the scanned image is processed to enhance both operational efficiency and image usability.

• Flat Single Page: The image is output exactly as captured, with no processing applied by the system. Ideal for scanning full spreads from books or magazines.
  

• Facing Pages: The system automatically splits the left and right pages into two separate files, making it easier to read, archive, or share the content as individual pages.
  

• Combine Sides: Ideal for double-sided documents such as ID cards or business cards. The system scans both the front and back sides sequentially and automatically merges them into a single image for easy saving and recognition.
  

• Manual Selection: Users can manually select the specific area of the image to be scanned. This is especially useful for scenarios that require precise targeting of barcodes, QR codes, or other specific content.

Additionally, the software includes an “Auto Scan” feature that automatically initiates scanning each time a page is turned, significantly boosting batch scanning efficiency. Users should be careful with timing to prevent their hands from blocking the view during scanning.

• Curve Flattening and Intelligent Image Correction

Each scanning mode comes with additional surprise features. The image below uses Facing Pages as an example.

When you select “Facing Pages” and click the button next to it, the following interface will appear, featuring functions such as curve flattening and finger removal.

Powered by the ET Max’s built-in triple-line laser system, CZUR’s software accurately detects page edges and curved lines. Its advanced image correction engine automatically flattens curved pages, removes finger shadows and distortions, and adjusts page angles based on the laser’s positioning data, minimizing scanning errors. This ensures users get clean, well-aligned scans in a single shot, without the need for repeated attempts. It’s beneficial for scanning bulky books, glossy pages, and other hard-to-handle materials.

• Improving Efficiency with Batch Processing

Clicking “Back” returns you to the main interface. The left side of the ET Max book scanner software main interface is divided into “Batch” and “Export.”

The batch processing feature is suitable for large-scale archiving or image organization. It supports color modes, rotation and flipping, edge cropping, handwriting removal, watermark addition, image enhancement, batch printing, and file renaming.

Users can set the desired color mode and orientation based on the document type, automatically crop overlapping edges near the book spine, or customize margins. The software also supports filling holes and erasing handwritten content to improve image cleanliness. Watermarks can be customized in terms of content and style, and image parameters like contrast and sharpness can be adjusted in batches.

Finally, the system supports batch printing and file renaming, allowing users to customize file prefixes, numbering rules, and output formats for easier document organization and archiving.

CZUR ET Max also enables quick and precise editing of individual images. Users can use the features at the bottom to crop images, selecting the area they want to retain. The rotation function allows for standard angle rotations as well as fine-tuning adjustments within ±15°, making it easy to correct any image skew.

The Export section supports saving scanned content in various file formats, including Word, Excel, PDF, searchable PDF, TXT, TIFF, PNG, and BMP.

Based on the ET Max OCR, the software can recognize text within images while preserving the original document’s paragraph structure and basic formatting as much as possible, facilitating subsequent editing or organization. When exporting PDF files, users can choose whether to enable text search functionality and customize compression settings and paper size. TIFF files are suitable for multi-page document processing or digital archiving, while other image formats (PNG and BMP) are intended for general image saving.
